200,000 Reasons Not to Trust AMFA

The President of AMFA Local 9, Joe Prisco, announced at the November meeting that AMFA was receiving $200,000 from United for “listening” to the merger/acquisition details. The fact is that if any action is taken from “listening”, they have been negotiating our contract. This is nothing more than “blood money.” We are listening to what the AMFA reps are saying. They are posturing for our sale with words like “it will be the best thing that can happen.” Do the AMFA association reps know or even care what the membership wants? We must remind them that they represent us, not United. The AMFA leadership is right: We must remain strong as we fight United—AND an association that takes corporate “blood money” in exchange for more jobs!
