KEEP IT CLEAN OR IT WILL NOT BE POSTED

I recently attended an event that opened
my eyes to the likelihood that
someday,
most likely in the near future, mechanics working for airlines all
around
the country will be able to call upon each other for support. Not the
kind of
support we already offer each other on the line when airplanes are
grounded,
but a much deeper vow of support, one that’s reserved for those we
trust
most. I’ve spent several days interacting with mechanics from different
companies,
both union and non union. We are currently building trust and unity
by
supporting groups of mechanics from other airlines and helping each
other
unite
with the Teamsters. Movements like these should be seen by all as the
building
blocks for national aircraft mechanic solidarity and the promise of a
future
where all airline workers are represented by the strongest union in the
country.
This movement of airline mechanics uniting with the Teamsters will have
enormous
benefits for all. Strength truly is found in numbers. If you
get a
chance to talk with a mechanic from another airline, you’ll know that
the
strength
of aircraft mechanics coupled with the Teamster union will stop the
outsourcing
and contracting out of our airline jobs. Undoubtedly with a Teamster
contract
we will secure airline jobs with real benefits for workers well into
the
future.
