Delta Merger Plans

Recent reports indicate Delta Airlines has begun merger negotiations with both United Airlines and Northwest Airlines. According to The Wall Street Journal, Delta hopes to negotiate a merger with one of the two airlines in the coming weeks.

A merger with either UAL or Northwest, would create the largest U.S. airline and could result in other airlines combining, as well.

A merger could be announced as early as mid-February.
